Our Working Day
Parents and carers are encouraged to come into school from 8.45am to read with their children in the classroom. The school day begins with registration at 9.00am promptly by which time the children should be settled in their classroom. In Years 1 and 2 this is followed by guided reading so it is very important that all pupils are punctual and arrive at school in good time for the beginning of the school day. After that the children will experience a rich variety of activities throughout the day involving children in individual, group or whole class learning to meet the planned learning intentions.

We always draw the day to a close with stories, songs or games. The children gather all their belongings, book-bags and any homework they may have, and are then ready to greet you or a carer/family member known to the school staff, at the classroom door at 3.15pm.
Assemblies take place on Tuesday and Friday afternoons and on other days the children have time for quiet reflection in their classes.
